Abstract

The interplay between religion and economic systems has historically influenced the structure and values of civilizations. This article explores how theological ethics—principles derived from religious moral frameworks—inform and shape global economic behaviors and policies. From the Protestant work ethic to Islamic finance, religious traditions offer unique perspectives on property, labor, wealth distribution, and market ethics. This study analyzes the role of religion in molding civilizational economies, examining theological doctrines that promote social welfare, economic justice, and sustainable development. Using a comparative approach, the article provides insights into how religiously grounded ethical principles continue to shape both traditional and contemporary economic systems across cultures.
