Religious freedom has played a pivotal role in shaping civilizations and defining the frameworks of political structures throughout history. This paper explores the historical significance and contemporary implications of religious liberty in the evolution of civilizations and the formation of political systems. Through a comparative analysis of religiously tolerant societies and those with restricted freedoms, the study identifies clear correlations between religious plurality, democratic growth, and socio-political stability. It argues that societies allowing diverse religious expressions tend to nurture innovation, social cohesion, and inclusive governance. Conversely, religious intolerance often correlates with authoritarianism, conflict, and societal fragmentation. This article further discusses how modern constitutional frameworks integrate religious freedoms to promote peaceful coexistence and developmental progress.
