Religious mythology has played an instrumental role in shaping the narratives of civilizations throughout history. These myths, deeply embedded in the cultural, social, and political fabric of societies, have influenced the ideologies, values, and historical interpretations that define various civilizations. This paper explores the significant role that religious mythology has in constructing civilizational narratives, particularly focusing on the ways these mythologies inform national identities, cultural ethos, and historical consciousness. By examining case studies from various cultures, including South Asia, the paper reveals the pervasive influence of mythological narratives in constructing a civilization's worldview. The study emphasizes the continued relevance of these mythologies in contemporary global discourse, providing insights into the intersection between mythology, culture, and civilization.
