THE THEOLOGY OF SACREDNESS AND ITS INFLUENCE ON HUMAN CIVILIZATION
Keywords:
Sacredness, Theology, Civilization, Religious InfluenceAbstract
The concept of sacredness occupies a central position in theological discourse across major world religions and has profoundly influenced the evolution of human civilization. This article explores the theological foundations of sacredness and examines its impact on the formation of cultural norms, ethical systems, and societal institutions throughout history. Drawing on Abrahamic and non-Abrahamic traditions, the study investigates how the perception of sacred time, space, texts, and human life has shaped architecture, law, governance, and interpersonal behavior in both ancient and modern societies. By integrating historical-theological analysis with cultural anthropology, the paper reveals that sacredness is not merely a metaphysical belief but a civilizational force that continues to mold human consciousness and collective identity.
