RELIGIOUS METAPHYSICS AND ITS ROLE IN SHAPING POLITICAL IDEOLOGIES
Keywords:

Religious metaphysics, grounded in transcendental beliefs and doctrines, has profoundly influenced the formation and evolution of political ideologies throughout history. From divine-right monarchies to contemporary theocratic models and liberation theologies, metaphysical constructs have provided legitimacy, ethical frameworks, and narratives of authority. This paper explores how metaphysical concepts—such as divine will, eschatology, and moral absolutism—shape ideological blueprints and political institutions. It also examines the tensions between secularism and religious metaphysics, highlighting case studies from Islamic, Christian, and Hindu political movements. The findings reveal that metaphysical underpinnings not only inform political thought but also mobilize communities, foster collective identity, and serve as instruments of both resistance and control.
