CIVILIZATION THROUGH THE LENS OF DIVINE LAW: A THEOLOGICAL INVESTIGATION
Keywords:
Divine Law, Theology, Civilization Development, Shari’ahAbstract
This paper explores the intricate relationship between divine law (Shari’ah) and the development of civilization from a theological perspective. Drawing on Islamic, Judaic, and Christian legal-theological traditions, the study investigates how revealed laws have influenced moral frameworks, governance systems, social institutions, and the cultural ethos of various civilizations. The research adopts a multidisciplinary lens—intertwining theology, history, jurisprudence, and sociology—to examine the civilizational trajectory shaped by divine law. The findings indicate that divine law not only informed ethical governance and societal order but also provided a cohesive spiritual and moral compass that guided long-term civilizational stability and intellectual growth.
